What happens at the end of the 7-day trial?
On day 5, you'll get a quietly-worded email reminding you billing starts on day 7. If you cancel before then, you keep Premium until the trial ends and aren't charged. After that, an active subscription is required to generate new stories. Your existing library stays in your account — re-readable any time. You can cancel from the App Store or right inside Owl Aby.
Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
Yes — Apple requires a payment method on file to start any subscription trial. Nothing is charged during the trial. If you cancel before day 7, your card is never touched.
How many children can use one subscription?
Premium includes up to four child profiles per family — each with their own personalized stories, library, and progress. Each profile can be shared with up to four caregivers (parents, grandparents, sitters) at no extra cost.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There's no commitment, no cancellation fee, and no hoops. Cancel from your device's subscription settings, or from inside Owl Aby → Profile → Subscription → Cancel. You'll keep Premium for the rest of your current billing period.
What if I cancel? Do I lose my stories?
No. Every story you've created during your subscription stays in your library — re-readable, downloadable, and narratable — for as long as you have an account. Cancellation pauses new generation; it never deletes the bedtime stories you and your child already loved. Restart your subscription any time to start creating new ones again.
Why is annual so much cheaper than monthly?
Annual subscriptions are a real signal that you're sticking around — which lets us plan capacity, hire pediatric advisors, and ship features more confidently. We pass most of that benefit back as a 58% discount. No tricks; it really is the same Premium, billed less often.
Is there a student or family-of-three+ discount?
Not yet — but we've heard the request. The annual plan already covers up to four children and four caregivers for $39.99/year total, which often works out cheaper than per-child pricing on other apps. Reach out if your family is bigger.
Do you offer refunds?
If something doesn't feel right in your first 30 days of paid use, send a note via our contact page and we'll refund the most recent payment, no questions. For purchases through the App Store, refunds also go through Apple's standard process.
Are the AI stories safe? Could anything inappropriate slip in?
Owl Aby stories run through multiple safety filters tuned specifically for children's content — including age-appropriate vocabulary, no violence or scary content unless the theme explicitly calls for it (e.g. bedtime fears, handled gently), and a human-reviewed prompt library. We also publish a transparency report twice a year on flagged content and how it was handled.
Do you use my child's voice or data to train models?
No. Never. Your child's profile, recordings, and stories are never used to train any of our models or any third-party model. The full privacy policy spells out exactly what we collect and why — it takes about 60 seconds to read.
Can I gift a subscription to a friend or family member?
Yes — gifting is supported on the annual plan. Buy a gift from inside the app (Profile → Subscription → Gift Owl Aby) or via the App Store. The recipient gets a code by email and can redeem whenever they're ready.
What if I have technical trouble or feedback?
Use the contact form — a real person responds, usually within a day. We read every message, and ship features based on what parents tell us hurts most.
